M4L Tetragranum 2
Tetragranum 2 is the latest update to my first-ever M4L device, originally released in 2022.
It’s a two-dimensional playground for generative, abstract soundscapes, using real-time stereo granular processing to blend up to four audio sources into evolving textures.
Load your own samples by dragging them into the four slots - waveform display confirms they’re ready to go - or route live audio from Ableton for real-time stereo granulation of any instrument or voice. The latest update also introduces MIDI mapping for the x-y nodes, allowing external controller integration for even more hands-on experimentation.
The x-y controller lets you navigate between sources, generating glitchy textures, shifting timbres, and sonic mutations. Adjust frequency level to control pitch randomisation and tweak gain for individual signal levels.
This update brings a completely redesigned UI for a smoother workflow, code refinements, and a new octave pitch control for defining how far pitch shifts can randomise (shoutout to Damiano Meacci for the suggestion).
