M4L Juicy Loops V1
This Max for Live device is a new and innovative take on the classic pattern-based grid sequencer popularised by FL Studio. Inspired by its simplicity and versatility, this device offers a range of extra possibilities for creating multi-layered beats and complex polyrhythms.
With the intuitive interface, you can quickly and easily create intricate rhythmic loops, programming up to 16 steps per pattern across 4 channels. JL includes advanced polyrhythmic capabilities, allowing you to edit the 4 rows of sequences individually and combine multiple patterns of different lengths and time signatures.

I've included a range of features unique to this device, including the R button for generating random values and the C button for clearing patterns or resetting parameters. It also offers precise control over the density of note generation, helping you achieve the desired level of complexity or simplicity in your rhythmical arrangements.
Located in the top left corner of the device is the global section, where you can randomise or reset the parameters of multiple rows with just one click, saving time and streamlining your workflow. On the right-hand side of this section, there is a "hidden button" that allows you to temporarily randomise a pattern. Once the button is released, the device brings back the previous pattern that you were working on. This unique highly performative feature allows to add variety and movement to your loops without losing the sense of rhythm.
You can further adjust the generated pattern by using the left and right arrows, which can shift individual rows as well as the entire pattern globally. This option gives you even greater control over the rhythm and allows you to experiment with complex polyrhythms and evolving patterns.
This device also includes a swing knob, inspired by the original FL Studio sequencer, allowing you to adjust the groove and feel of your patterns with subtle variations.
If you have any questions or suggestions for future implementations, please feel free to reach out.
Hope you enjoy it
"Please note that this device is not an exact replica of the FL Studio sequencer. It's an emulation created by me, as independent developer and music producer who drew inspiration from the original sequencer UI, but added new features too. This device is not meant to denigrate or promote any specific DAW. Nor does it suggest that users should switch from one software to another. As Ableton user, I developed it because I personally love the FL Studio sequencer and wanted something similar for my own production workflow"
